Xaghra Local Council awarded ‘Special Projects’ funds

Xaghra Local Council has announced that the application that they submitted,with the aim of financing a particular project in their locality, was approved and the related funds were given during a ceremony which was recently held in one of the main halls in the Archeology Museum (Valletta).
This occasion was presided over by the Parliamentary Secretary for Public Dialogue and Information, Dr. Chris Said. Xaghra Local Council was represented by The Executive Secretary, Mr. Joseph Azzopardi.
The number of beneficiaries amounted to nineteen Local Councils from around Malta and Gozo, including Xaghra.
The project that Xaghra Local Council applied for is that of a belvedere in Church Street, Xaghra, making a further recreational area for the village.
The Local Council have already applied for the necessary permits from the Malta Environment and Planning Authority to enable them to proceed with the project as soon as possible.
