'Community' art and sculpture exhibiton at the CitadelThe Community of Malta Artists (CoMA), is proud to present its first collaborative exhibition, celebrating the widest range of art styles and media. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono at a reception on the 27th of February.

Titled simply “Community,” the exhibition will include work by some of Malta and Gozo’s better known artists, featured alongside pieces from developing artists. It will be an enjoyable and thought provoking display of paintings and sculptures to suit all tastes and pockets. In all, 20 artists will be exhibiting over 120 works.

The exhibition will be held at the Cittadella Centre for Culture & Arts, The Citadel, Victoria. All three halls in the centre; the grand old St John’s, St Michael’s and St Ursula’s Halls will be in use. In the works exhibited by members of CoMA one can find creations in metal and ceramic, water colour and oil, photography alongside handmade jewellery. Subjects for the artists range from the abstract to interpretations of local landscape, from the human figure to African wildlife, and still life to the use of mosaic forms.

There is use of colour that moves from the flamboyant to the subtle and texture from the rich to the fine. In its 120 pieces the exhibition “Community” displays such a range of work that it will give pleasure to any visitor. The exhibition is open from the 28th of February till the 19th of March, from 10.00am to 3.00pm daily (from 11.00am on weekends).

The exhibition will be linked to 2 charity activities; the Rotary Club Gozo ( will be raising funds for the international Haiti Appeal; the Knights of St. Lazarus ( for the treatment and cure of leprosy and motor neurone disease through the sale of autographed books by the author Charles Coyne.
