New facilities at the Gozo Football Stadium inaugurated

The project for the upgrading of the Gozo Football Stadium was inaugurated during a ceremony at the complex, by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono and the Minister of Finance, the Economy and Investment, Tonio Fenech.
This project was supported by a contribution of €52,500 from the Lotteries Good Causes Fund and was supported and coordinated by the Ministry for Gozo together with the Gozo Football Association with the assistance of the Malta Sports Council and Malta Football Association. The facilities that have been added include new dressing rooms, press facilities and an office that has been established for the Malta Sports Council.
During the inauguration, the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, praised the initiative of the Gozo Football Association, while also thanking all those who contributed or helped in any way with the project. She explained how the sports facilities at the Gozo Stadium received constant attention so that it can raise the local level of play. She also mentioned other sporting disciplines receiving attention by the Ministry for Gozo, including the identification of sites that attract climbing enthusiasts, as well as building a swimming pool near the Sports Complex in Victoria. The Minister explained how recently increased facilities in the complex included new gym equipment and modern facilities.
The Minister of Finance, the Economy and Investment, Tonio Fenech, described the aid as proof of the Government’s commitment to help sports organisations to have facilities of the highest quality, to aid the development of children and young people.
