Alternattiva Demokratika has said that it supports the launch of the Anti-racism Campaign organized by Migrants’ Network for Equality – Malta. A delegation from the Green Party is participating in the official launch of this campaign.
Yvonne Arqueros Ebejer, spokesperson for Civil Rights of Alternattiva Demokratika said, “the role of non-governmental organisations is crucial because the majority of victims of racism are non-Maltese nationals who might not even speak Maltese or English. NGOs play an important part in advising and informing victims about their rights. They also raise public awareness about the challenges racial and ethnic minorities have to face. Thanks to these organizations democracy, human rights and equality are promoted. Three values which Alternattiva Demokratika – The Green Party has always believed in.”
Michael Briguglio, AD Chairperson, said, “AD supports the NGOs in Malta which are struggling against racism in various spheres of social life. In our vision, racial discrimination is unacceptable, and for this reason we are the only political party in Malta which is fully supporting the proposed EU anti-discrimination directive.”
