The Altar Boys and Vocations Group of the Cathedral Parish in Victoria is once again organising the traditional ‘Last Supper’ exhibition at the Sta. Barbara Chapel in the Citadel.
The exhibition is entitled “L-Ikla tal-Mulej” (The Last Supper of the Lord) and encompasses several different features, such as the traditional “Mejda tal-Appostli” (Dining table of the Apostles) and for the first time, a replica of a traditional Jewish kitchen in which food was prepared during the Easter festivities.
Today, this exhibition forms an integral part of the Cathedral’s programme of events relating to the Lent and Easter festivities, and proves to be an acclaimed attraction to the numerous tourists and visitors who come to the Citadel and the Cathedral during the Holy Week.
The team who worked on this vast project is made up of young boys and teenagers, who voluntarily offered their time and energy in order to make yet another success of this exhibition.
The exhibition will be officially inaugurated this coming Sunday, April the 17th, 2011 (Palm Sunday), after the 10.30 mass, by Parish Priest Mgr. Joseph Attard. H.L. Mgr. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, is also expected to make a visit shortly afterwards.
The parish radio station will be providing a live streaming of the event on 90.9 FM and on the website www.radjukatidral.com.
