E.R.R.C. Bicycle Response Unit debuted at Gozo Marathon

On Sunday, the Gozo Amateur Athletic Association (GAAA), in collaboration with the Malta Amateur Athletic Association, the Xaghra Local council and the Ministry for Gozo held the 36th edition of the Gozo Half Marathon.
For this event, the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps (E.R.R.C.) carried out first aid, ambulance service and, for the first time, deployed the Bicycle Response Unit (BRU). The Bicycle Response Unit is a new branch of E.R.R.C. whcih offers first aid service during fun walks, bicycle activities and other social activiites where first aid service cannot be covered with an ambulance.
This year’s Gozo Half Marathon was in aid of Puttinu Cares.
