Assistance was rendered to 5 people suffering form minor injuries, 5 tired swimmers who needed assistance to reach shore safely and 3 female casualties who suffered spinal injuries. The spinal injuries were caused after three female casualties jumped from a height (Kemmunet) into the water below. One of the casualties was evacuated by an Armed Forces of Malta helicopter.
E.R.R.C would like to remind the general public that jumping form heights into shallow water could result in injuries leading to death.
