Xaghra belvedere at Ta’ Ghajn Damma to be inaugurated

The Xaghra Local Council is to inaugurate the recently completed belvedere situated in Church Street, which is in the area popularly knows as ‘Ta’ Ghajn Damma.’ It enjoys the beautiful scenery of the Gozitan countryside as far down as Marsalforn Bay and will, the Council said, be another recreation area to enjoy in the village. This belvedere is one of the recent infrastructual projects implemented by the Xaghra Local Council.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on Friday, the 20th of January 2012 at 10am. There will be singing by the Xaghra Primary School’s choir, as well as a speech about the development of the name ‘Ghajn Damma’ by Gozitan historian, Mgr Joseph Bezzina.
The belvedere will be inaugurated by Xaghra Mayor, Mr. Joe Cordina and blessed by Archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo.
Everyone is warmly invited to attend.
