The purchase and installation of a lift and energy saving lighting at the Oratory Don Bosco Theatre in Victoria, are two projects that have been carried out with the financial assistance of almost €50,000 from the Ministry for Gozo, through the eco-Gozo for Gozitan NGOs.
The projects were inaugurated at the end of last week, during the celebrations of the Don Bosco Feast, by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono.
The Minister praised the initiative of Fr Effie Masini and those who worked in collaboration with him. She added that “these projects address both the environmental and social aspects of the eco-Gozo vision. Through these projects, the Oratory will improve social inclusion by aiding accessibility while also offering a sustainable environment for children, youth and families from all over Gozo, who frequently attend the religious, cultural and sporting activities that the Oratory offers.
The Minister said that “The Oratory Don Bosco Theatre was one of 37 NGOs who have benefited for funding under the eco_Gozo scheme for NGOs. They were able to benefit from a maximum amount of €50,000. All these NGOs accomplished 38 different projects that implement one or more measures in the eco-Gozo action plan 2010-2012. Through the scheme Gozo NGOs, Local Councils and Administrative Committees, are enjoying an investment of € 2 million in various projects all around the island.”
