15 new beds have been delivered to Gozo General Hospital. These are part of the first phase of a project to replace the existing ones at the Hosptial which is being financed by the Ministry for Gozo.
“The motorised beds will be more comfortable for the patient, while also aiding the work of the medical staff,” the Ministry said.
The new beds were distributed to the male and female wards, as as well as the gynaecology and maternity unit.
The Ministry said that it is expected that the replacement of the remaining beds will continue over the next twelve months, while work on the hospital corridors is due to start shortly, this includes, flooring and changing the lighting systems among others.
