Air Malta charter flights to regional UK airports this summerAir Malta will again operate charter flights to/from six regional airports in the UK this summer.

As from the 1st of May, the Maltese airline will operate weekly charter flights to/from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Newcastle and Norwich Airports. The charter operations to these airports will be in addition to the airline’s regular schedule services to and from London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports as well as to Manchester. These charter services will run till 30th October.

Speaking about these services, Philip Saunders, Chief Commercial Officer said, “these charter flights increase accessibility to the islands from regional UK airports and thus offer travellers the opportunity to reduce travelling time and costs. These services were made possible following the support received from the respective airports as well as from tour operators and travel trade partners in the area.”

“This is not the first time that Air Malta has operated flights to these airports, however such operations further confirm the airline’s commitment to boost incoming tourism to Malta from the UK -which is Malta’s primary tourism market. We expect to carry around 48,000 passengers on these services,” added Mr Saunders.

Air Malta offers full services on its charter flights by offering refreshments, 20Kgs for checked in baggage and up to 10Kgs as hand luggage allowance. Flights can also be booked from the airline’s portal

The flight from Norwich has been operating for many years. Tha problem with it is the time it arrives in Malta. By the time you get out of the airport and get to Cirkewwa you miss the last ferry and have to wait another hour on top of all the other travelling you have done that day! Come on Air Malta and GoZo Channel sort something out especially if you want to increase the number of people to travel on that route. Its a disgrace in 21st Century!

True true, there is nothing more infuriating then coming from Heathrow, race to Cirkewwa and see the ferry departing. You are right E. Galea. I start my journey as from and do not get home in Sannat till 4.45 of the following morning,(11 hour journey) but like you said, AirMalta and Gozo channel do not speak to each other. and come to some agreement.

Exactly! We often arrive in Cirkewwa straight from the 00:45am Heathrow flight arrival and find the ferry ramp being lifted up infront of us!..ferry leaves 1:50am, we wonder why not at 2:00am. For those silly 10 minutes, Gozitan residents & tourists have to wait till 5 am to get home. Am sure this won’t effect the crew, since they are still on shift throughout the night; Can the management consider it please??
