Leone Band to rock in Marsalforn with Winter Moods duo

Following the successful 5th edition of Leone Goes Pop in June, Gozo’s Leone Band said that it is once again moving to its summer show venue in Marsalforn, “Gozo’s most popular summer resort.”
The repeat performance of the Leone Goes Pop’s 5th edition will be taking place on Tuesday, the 24th of July starting at 9pm. It will feature Ivan Grech and Melvin Caruana, frontman and guitarist of Winter Moods, together with Gozitan singer Deborah C.
The June performance of the show, which took place in Victoria, was hosted by TV personality Angie Laus and the band said that it “attracted thousands of people who filled up the city’s main square as well as the surrounding streets.”
The Leone Band said that it is “holding a programme of events over a 16 month period to celebrate its 150th anniversary as the first band to be founded in Gozo, this repeat performance will be part of a series of events in which a collection for charitable causes will take place. “
This year’s line-up includes music from Morandi, Bryan Adams, Boney M, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Robbie Williams, and Queen among others. It also includes, performing live with the band, frontman Ivan Grech and guitarist Melvin Caruana from the popular band Winter Moods and Deborah C.
Leone Goes Pop (5th ed.) is being produced with kind help of Citadel Insurance, Cisk, MTA, Ministry for Gozo and Ministry for Justice, Dialogue and the Family. Seating is free on a first-come-first-served basis.
The concert will be held under the distinguished patronage of acting President Anton Tabone.
