This year’s Summer Sizzler organised by the Committee of the Gozo CCU Foundation proved to be another resounding succcess.
The Committee said that it was a truly great evening of good food, wine and entertainment, round the pool of the Cornucopia Hotel in Xaghra. Guests danced the night away to music and singing by the talented Penny Dix and Kevin McGowan.
During the evening one of the guests, Miriam Whittaker gave a very emotional speech thanking the CCU Foundation and the staff of the Gozo CCU Ward for helping to save her life.
The Foundation said that it is continuing its fundraising efforts to provide the CCU/ITU Ward and other Departments of the Hospital, with further vital life saving equipment working closely with Nursing Staff, Consultants and Hospital Administrators.
The latest piece of equipment that the Foundation supplied the Hospital with was an ECG machine for the Accident and Emergency Department. “Now, when you enter the Gozo CCU Ward you can see how the Foundation has changed the Ward into a very modern unit, making a huge difference for the patients in Gozo,” the Fondation said.
The Committee gave special thanks to the Management and Staff of the Cornucopia for the lovely food and great service that they provided, Penny and Kevin for their entertainment, all the businesses and individuals who donated the raffle prizes and indeed everyone who helped to make the evening a great success.
Carmen and her Committee said that they would also like to extend their grateful appreciation to those who have supported and continue to champion the Foundation and its objectives.
