For the first time, the Gozitan post-secondary student organisation Students’ Voice is pleased to announce that it will be organising the event ‘Fresh Start,’ which is aimed at welcoming first year Sixth Form students to their new experience as post-secondary students at the Sir M.A. Refalo Centre for Further Studies.
This event, based on the Freshers Week model, will focus on introducing students to their new school, lifestyle and opportunities, while helping them get used to the change in environment and systems as quickly as possible, thus ensuring a smoother transition and long-lasting effect on their educational performance.
The activity is being organised in collaboration with the Administration and Guidance Office of the Sir M.A. Refalo Centre for Further Studies and is being held this coming Monday, the 1st of October, from 12.00pm (noon) onwards.
Students will be given the opportunity to be shown around their new educational institution by Students’ Voice members, who will be on hand to answer any questions that students might have through a special help desk service.
The event will also be including the official launch of a special student guide book published by the organisation for the first time, which aims to help students answer some of the most important questions while getting used to their new school and educational system. The free publication, entitled ‘Sir M.A. Refalo – A closer look’ is written and designed by members of the organisation and will be handed out to all students attending the event.
Students’ Voice will be launching its official website during the event, which will offer help and support to students not only as they progress in their period at the Gozo Sixth Form, but also as they face new challenges as teenagers in an ever-demanding society.
