38th edition of the Gozo Half Marathon this coming Sunday

The 38th Edition of the Gozo Half Marathon organised by the Gozo Amateur Athletic Association (GAAC) in collaboration with the Xaghra Youth Centre and the Xaghra Local Council, takes place this coming Sunday, the 28th of April 2013.
A total of 78 trophies will be awarded, together with a number of promotional give-aways. Commemorative medals will be awarded to all participants finishing the race.
The organisers said that apart from the half marathon (13.1mi), participants can also take part in the 8mi, 4km, 2km or the 2km fun run. The 13.1mi MTB race will once again form part of this event.
All races start and end at Xaghra Square and 200 applications from 16 countries have been registered to date with among others participants from Germany, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Hungary and Israel…
The event will see the participation of previous title holders Drew Lang and Cecilia Fenech.
The organisers said that even if you are not running you can still take part in the event by being a Route Marshall, anyone interested can please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Free transport will be available on the day between Mgarr Ferry Terminal and Xaghra Square.

Interested participants can register online on www.gozomarathon.org. Applications can also be downloaded from the website and sent through postal mail. Late application fees apply after the 19th of April, with the 26th of April as the deadline for applications.
