Xaghra Scout Group enjoy the 5th Anniversary celebrationsThe Xaghra Scout Group are this year celebrating the 5th Anniversary from the reopening of the group.

To mark this special occasion, Xaghra Scout Group held a celebration Mass at the Xaghra Basilica on Sunday morning. Following the Mass, the blessing of the new headquarters took place together with the investiture of the leader Daniela Buttigieg and the beaver Abigail Pace..Xaghra Scout Group enjoy the 5th Anniversary celebrationsMembers of the public were then invited to visit the new headquarters, near the Xaghra Playing Field, where ongoing work is taking place to turn the building into a meeting place for the members. Welcome refreshments were served.

From there the group moved on to the Country Terrace for a celebration lunch.Xaghra Scout Group enjoy the 5th Anniversary celebrationsPresent for this ceremony were all the members of the sections and their respective leaders, the Council members and the HQ committee members. Apart from these, Mr Leslie Bonnici who is the Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Malta, Mr Lorrie Saliba who is the Gozo District Commissioner and Mr Joe Grech, a former Chief Commissioner participated in this event. Distinct people from the village also attended, namely, the Archpriest Mons. Carmelo Refalo, the Local Mayor Mr Joe Cordina and the councillors Ms Maria Grima and Dr Kevin Cutajar.
