Caravans at Armier should be removed immediately - DLHDin l-Art Helwa has said that it welcomes yesterday’s court ruling on the caravans at Armier beach, which confirms that the caravans are illegal.

“These caravans are an eyesore and are denying the public their right to enjoy the foreshore,” the NGO said. “They are also causing environmental damage to the beach at Armier.”

Din l-Art Helwa added that it has stated for many years that the illegal caravans and boathouses at Armier should be removed and it is a shame that it has taken so long for the authorities to act on these blatant illegalities.”

Din l-Art Helwa said it now calls on the Government to take immediate action and remove these caravans, together with all other illegal structures in the area.

“This an opportunity for the government to prove its declared interest in the environment, of which we have seen little evidence so far,” the NGO concluded.

Are you serious? You want to turn Hondoq into a slum like Armier full of dirty caravans? Isn’t it bad enough during the summer months as it is?

Every year hondoq is full of caravans as well and are taking alot of parking spaces. They also dirty the area. What action is going to be taken? As this problem props up every year.

I speak the truth. Qala residents only have themselves to blame for the destruction of Hondoq. I mean think about it. Qala advertises about the Gozo drum tribe party, about their pubs with live entertainment and about their September EU festival. Years ago , none of this existed in Qala. These advertisements attract people from all over Malta. Now there is so much car pollution in Qala because of this.
