Evidence of this is that the new service is reducing the inconvenience and hassle for Gozitan patients who, previously would have had to travel to Malta. Moreover, thanks to this new service it will also possibly help to reduce the pressure on waiting lists at Mater Dei Hospital.”

“This project was proposed in light of the national strategy 2007 – 2013 to address accessibility to health services, among others to improve the quality of life on the island, continue to improve service, improving the quality of life by reducing the suffering for the patient and better use of resources.”
Work on the bone density unit began last year and both the work as well as the installation of the equipment was finalised in the last three months.
