Swimmer suffers from lacerations to her feet at Blue Lagoon

At around 2pm this afternoon, a 24-year-old Maltese female swimmer was injured when she was hit by a boat propeller, resulting in lacerations to her feet
She was assisted by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps Lifeguards onsite and taken with hydro ambulance, Lifesaver 1 to Mgarr Harbour, from where she was transferred to the Gozo General Hospital by ambulance.
In addition to the lifeguarding service in Comino and Ramla Bay in Gozo, as from next Saturday, the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps has been assigned to give lifeguarding coverage in Marsalforn Bay between 11.00am and 7.00pm.
The Ministry for Gozo will also be installing a number of flag poles, including information panels and ring buoys in selected swimming areas.
The lifeguarding service at the Blue Lagoon in Comino is possible due to financial support from the Malta Tourist Authority. Support is also being provided by the Ministry for Gozo, Mgarr Marina, Transport Malta, Police, Armed Forces of Malta, Police and the Civil Protection Department.
