Two concerts by the BrassTubes Ensemble in MarsalfornTwo concerts by the BrassTubes Ensemble are taking place this weekend at il-Menqa in Marsalforn during which a large selection of popular and traditional tunes from different styles including Jazz, Swing, Latin, Pop, Rock and more will be performed.

BrassTubes Ensemble is a group composed of musicians who are specialists in brass instruments. This newly-formed group hails from Victoria and its objectives are to provide a wide selection of musical styles ranging from the classical repertoire to the all-time popular jazz standards.

Despite its relative newness, the ensemble has already had the opportunity to perform in various important venues on the islands. Recently, it took part in an instrumental and vocal soirée under the distinguished patronage of H.E. The President of the Republic, Dr George Abela.

In every concert they have performed, BrassTubes said that they have received positive acclaim from audiences and critics alike, being particularly praised for “their scintillating musicality, brilliant virtuosity and outstanding technical abilities.”

The ensemble said its members are among the island’ best brass players, having either graduated from prestigious Universities and Institutions such as the University of Malta and Manchester Royal Northern College of Music or else are diploma holders of the London College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music.

The first performance is this Friday evening, which will be followed be a second performance on Sunday the 25th. Both concerts start at 9.00pm, they are free of charge and everyone is warmly invited to attend.
