Wirt Ghawdex will be holding the first lecture for 2014, on Friday, the 31st of January, at Santa Cecilia Chapel, Ghajnsielem. Entitled ‘Nature Sites in Gozo,’ the lecture will be delivered by renowned ornithologist and environmentalist Joe Sultana.
Mr Sultana has always been interested in Maltese biodiversity and environmental conservation and has authored several ornithological and nature publications. Although now retired from Government service, he still serves as a consultant to the Council of Europe’s Diploma for Protected Areas.
He has previously also held positions as principal Environment Officer; a member of the Planning Authority Board; Secretary and President of MOS (now Birdlife Malta); member of Birdlife International, Chairman of the COE Naturopa Centre and Chairman of Ornis Committee.
The lecture, which starts at 6.30pm, is in English and open to the general public. Due to the limited space of the venue, reservation of seats is recommended via email to email@example.com.
Attendance is free although any donations from non-members would be appreciated and will help with the maintenance costs of Wirt Ghawdex sites.
