Work resumes in Triq Ghar Ilma, Santa Lucija, Gozo

The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo, this morning announced that work had resumed in Triq Ghar Ilma, Santa Lucija. He said that the road, which forms part of the heritage trail, had been abandoned for a long time .
The works include asphalting large areas of the road and Dr Refalo explained that the work is part of a holistic plan by the Ministry for Gozo to improve the infrastructure of the island..
Besides being part of the heritage trail, Triq Ghar Ilma also gives access to a number of holiday farmhouses and is therefore used by tourists, as well as used regularly by farmers in the area.
Dr Refalo went on to say that the Ministry for Gozo is fully committed to improving the tourism product of Gozo. He pointed out that the capital expenditure for asphalting the road is to be allocated from funds through the Ministry for Gozo.Meanwhile, the Minister also presented a donation of €1,500 from Eco-Gozo funds, for the landscaping of Santa Lucia Square.
The Minister was welcomed by people of the community and the Chairperson and members of the Santa Lucija Administrative Committee.
