The the 45 Malta Airport ALIVE 2014 Cycling Challenge for Cancer cyclists together with their back-up team arrived in Prague yesterday. The day passed quickly having had to assemble back the bikes, team briefings followed by dinner and early bed time.
Today the team will cycle for 158km from Prague to their first destination – Trebic.
During this first day of the challenge the cyclists will be climbing over 2400 metres of vertical elevation. Arrival is expected late in the evening.
Gozitan rider Louis Debattista said that so far on this first day of the challenge, they are facing some climbs, and unfortunately aslo some rainy weather”
Each rider has their own tracker so if anybody would like to follow Louis, the only participant from Gozo on the challenge, you can do so by going to http://alivecharity.com/tracker/. Louis is number 9 in the list.
Louis had some encouragement from his neighbour in Qala, who left a flyer on his car to wish him luck!
Day 2 will see the team venture into Austria.
