Louis Debattista leaves tomorrow (Tuesday), on his next cycle challenge for charity. Having just completed the 1000Km Alive Cycle Challenge, he will start a 1,420Km ride on Wednesday from Harpenden in Luton, England, this time to raise funds for the Gozo CCU Foundation.
Louis will cycle through Holland, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and then on to his destination of Lake Como in Italy, where he is due to arrive on the 5th of August.
There will be no back-up car or any support, Louis said, just a back pack and one other person with him.
During last week’s Alive Cycle Challenge, the cyclists and other team members who were waiting to cross the border into Serbia, donated €500 towards the Gozo CCU Foundation fund.
Louis expressed his sincere thanks to everyone and said that “every mile I will ride will be for every one of you. I will be thinking of you all and how we all spent the 7 days cycling together.”
Louis added, “please, especially people living in Gozo, help this worthy cause, and you can do so by sending a donation in the form of a cheque made out to ‘The CCU Foundation,’ which can be sent to Louis Debattista at, “The Dusty house” Triq Ta Cini, Qala Gozo QLA-2020, or email me Louismalti@aol.com or call me on 99609845. We need to look out for ourselves and what our country needs.”
The Foundation’s next project is to raise funds to purchase 2 ventilators for the CCU ward to add to the 2 that have already been donated by the Foundation.
