This coming Saturday, the 13th of December, the Fondazzjoni Ta’ Klula will be organising its traditional Santa Lucija Festival of Light.
This traditional event will involve a number of young village girls, dressed in long white gowns with a wreath of lit candles on their heads, who will parade in the square where a large bonfire is also lit.
Santa Lucija buns will be distributed to all those present accompanied by the Stella Maris choir. The evening’s celebrations get underway at 7.00pm and everyone is invited to attend this very special annual event.
The Festa proper will take place this Sunday, the 14th of December, when a large variety of celebrations take place inside the beautiful little Church and also around the streets of this very quaint Gozitan village.
The hamlet feast will feature band marches, firework displays and religious celebrations, which will include a procession with the Titular statue from the Church Square through the streets of the village on the Sunday evening, commencing at 4.45pm.
After the Festa celebrations finally draw to a close, a large Crib is set up in an old mill room in readiness for the Christmas Celebrations.
For those using public transport bus number 313 goes to the village.
