The postponement has been requested due to the fact that the Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil will be abroad .
The Government proposed the debate to Parliament for this Wednesday, following the signing and publication of the agreement last Friday.
The Government said “that it has accepted the request of the Opposition and instead it will be held on a day that is convenient for the Leader of the Opposition.”
“This agreement will save Enemalta from the precarious situation that it was left it, and put the energy sector on a sound footing and create new opportunities for the country’s economy,” the Government said.
“Therefore,” the Government said, it “believes that Parliament should have the discussion on this strategic investment as soon as is possible.”
