MAPSSS Commmittee Election: 6 candidates contest Gozo College seat

All those parents of students, attending state primary and secondary school in Malta and Gozo should have already received the ballot paper with the names of the persons contesting the seat available for their particular College on the MAPSSS Committee.
The seat available for the representative of the parents of students attending the Gozo College is being contested by six contestants: Ms Abi Clark, Mr Louis Debattista, Ms Emma Morgan, Ms Catherine Perici Calascione, Edward Scerri and Ms Deborah Zammit.
Although the election day proper is set for Friday, 23rd February a good number of parents in Gozo have already started to cast their votes. Mr. Victor Galea, the Gozo College Principal, was one of the first parents who cast their vote early at the Victoria Primary where his son attends.
Mr Galea who earlier had already cast his ballot for the School’s Council, took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Senior Management Teams of at the schools in Gozo for working hard to encourage parents to come forward and present themselves as candidates. So ensuring that elections are taking place in all of the Gozo College’s thirteen.
He added that it is now the duty of all parents to make their choice among the six candidates.
“All the 6 persons who have submitted their nomination are valid, but ultimately one has to choose. It is so now the duty of all parents to determine who out of the six candidates will be speaking for them on the MAPSSS Committee. They owe it to their children to exercise their right to vote. Mr Galea said.
The votes have to be taken to the school by themselves or send the vote in a sealed envelope with their children, by tomorrow, Friday, the 23rd January.
