Visitors enjoy the craft of lace making at the annual Gozo Lace Day

The 19th Gozo Lace Day 2015, had a large variety of activities to interest the many visitors who arrived at the Gozo Campus today for this very popular annual event.
Organised by the Lace Making Programme at the University of Malta – Gozo Campus, it consisted of a number of exhibitions of lace masterpieces and textile crafts, along with demonstrations relating to Maltese lace making.Local lace makers turned up with their own pillows to join others in lace making, as well as an opportunity to share their experiences, both good and bad! A bobbin was given as a commemorative souvenir to all participants. Stands were also mounted by the International Organisation of Needle and Bobbin Lace (OIDFA) and by the Malta Lace Guild, together with demonstrations of felted sheep wool, embroidery, card weaving, beading and lace making.
‘Koperattiva Ghawdxija tal-Bizzilla u Artigjanat’ provided lace material for sale.
