Transport Malta has said in a statement this afternoon that in light of the accident that occurred this morning, it appeals drivers to observe traffic signs.

“Once again, let us remind drivers that the speed limit on this road is 40 Km/h, that the road is two-way in various sections and no overtaking is allowed in any section of the road.”

“These arrangements have been in place since the beginning of the project and will remain till its end,” it said.

Transport Malta said that it is “augmenting the road’s safety with signs and other measures; it is important that they are observed.”
