Comments received by the Gozo Live team following each evening’s performance were most appreciative, they said, “making the hard work put in by the cast and dedicated director Rob Ricards really worthwhile.”

‘Our Town’ by Thornton Wilder is a seemingly simple play with some deep insights into life. Throughout there is some gentle humour. The play is set in a small New Hampshire town starting in 1901 and going on to 1913 following the lives of two families, the Gibbs and the Webb families.Gozo Live’s production of ‘Our Town’ plays to capacity audiencesIt is a play ideal for small groups like Gozo Live, in that the playwright stipulated that the set be absolutely minimal and there should be few props with the actors miming where possible.

Gozo Live said that it will now concentrate on the play writing competition, with all members of the community invited to enter. The closing date is the 30th of September.

Rules are available from “Even if you have not written a play before enter. You may surprise yourself. See your work brought to life on the stage and win a cash prize!”
