MAM & Government reach agreement on future of health sector

Following meetings between the Minister for Energy and Health Konrad Mizzi, together with Parliamentary Secretary Chris Fearne and the Malta Medical Association, the two sides have reached an agreement on the future of the health sector, as well as the agreement between the Government and Vitalis Global Healthcare, for the privatisation development to the Gozo General Hospital, the St. Luke’s Hospital and Karen Grech Hospital.
The Government said in a statement this evening that the decision was reached after talks took place today between Chris Fearne and the President of MAM Gordon Caruana Dingli, Secretary-General Martin Balzan, together with other representatives of MAM.
Now the text is agreed, the document will be examined by the respective legal teams, the Government said.
The MAM further noted that the talks between the Government and the University of Malta are also at an advanced stage.
