Good Friday Procession with traditional Passion Tableaux

As we approach Holy Week, The Leone Philharmonic Society will be taking part in several traditional events. These activities, the band said, are intricately entwined with the Gozo Cathedral Church within the Citadel.
On Palm Sunday, the 20th of March, the Good Friday Procession with traditional Passion Tableaux, will take place around the historic centre of Victoria. It exits from the Gozo Cathedral at 5.30pm.
The organisers said that "this oldest-known procession of its kind in Gozo" and sees the participation of hundreds of volunteers who either parade 7 statues, some of them dating back to the 18th century, or dress up as biblical figure and contingents of Roman soldiers.
The Leone band will accompany the procession and will perform a set of funeral marches. There will also be the participation of the Fgura Scout Group.
The procession is best viewed in the Citadel's main square at 5.30pm, or in Savina Square a short while later, Republic street from 6.30pm onwards or again at the Citadel from 7.30pm onwards.
