Fierce competition between riders in GMA Championship Semi-Finals

Head to head battles dominated the Gozo Motocross Association Semi-Finals on Sunday, as each rider struggled to acquire the maximum points possible.
An incredible performance was made by all riders, with each and every one putting on a courageous and challenging show, showcasing their abilities in clouds of dirt, power, speed and endurance.
As usual the event was divided into three categories. In Class A Mario Cauchi achieved the maximum points of the day as he swiftly overrode Etienne Bigeni, 2014/15 Champion, in the first and third heat. Bigeni followed Cauchi and Robert Spiteri finished third in this class. In Category B, Matthew Zammit came up first, with Nataniel Camilleri in second place and Anthony Fenech coming in in third place.
Jorn Stellini held on tightly to his 60 points, the maximum points a rider can achieve during an event. Also in Class C Joseph Luke came in 2nd, while Steve Cassar followed in third place.The Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport Chris Aguis, visited the track together with the Gozo Sport Board CEO, Mr Alvin Grech and Mr John Busuttil as part of the Gozo Sports Festival that is being held in Gozo, in order to showcase the many different sports disciplines practiced in Gozo.
The Parliamentary Secretary said that he was impressed with the high level of performance of the member riders of the Gozo Motocross Association. He congratulated the association for its success in bringing forth, once more, the motocross sport in Gozo.
Meanwhile, The Motocross championship Finals will take place next Sunday, the 15th of May, at Ta' Xhajma Motocross Track, when a special programme will be prepared for the day.
The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo, CEO Sports Board Alvin Grech, Secretary Sports Board Joe Bajada and John Busuttil will be presenting trophies to the winners.
