Gozo Alive - 3 day programme of arts, culture and spectacleGozo Alive – is a three day cultural spectacle being organised by the Ministry for Gozo, with a programme of activities taking place all around Gozo.

The Ministry said that these events have been prepared by a dedicated team, that will combine creative, cultural and artistic aspects, between Friday, the 18th and Sunday, the 20th of May.

The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana, speaking at today’s Festival launch, explained that the Ministry wanted to offer a popular spectacle to the people which would provide entertainment for all ages and tastes.

“This is another way for Gozitan families to visit and enjoy a happy atmosphere, filled with top local and foreign talents from various fields of culture in a unique environment of the city and the resort areas,” said Dr Caruana.

The highlight will be on the Saturday, when events will take place throughout the day, all around Gozo, performances will be held in collaboration with Local Councils.

On Saturday evening, popular culture will be performed by people through innovative and creative use of the streets and public spaces of Victoria.

The Minister said that this includes a combination of activities tailored to particular sites around the typical streets of the city. Those attending will experience the best music, dance, visual arts, digital arts, history and fashion.

Dr Caruana added that, the programme of entertainment for the weekend Festival will attract to Gozo among the best exponents of local musical, including Red Electric, The Travellers, Ivan Grech & Band, and the exclusive participation of the popular English group, Rudimental.

Gozo Alive, the Minister said, will also recognise the importance of popular areas, including major churches, to offer various aspects of culture and spectacle.

These include collective exhibition of local artists at the Convent of the Franciscan Friars and concerts in several churches and chapels throughout Victoria, as well as spectacular fashion, visual and digital technology and gastronomy.
