Identity and BREXIT: Euroscepticism in Malta discussed in Gozo talkIdentity and BREXIT: Euroscepticism in Malta – is the subject of the first public talk of 2019, being organised by Philosophy Sharing Gozo

Dr. Mark Harwood, Director of the Institute for European Studies, will be the speaker for the evening.

He noted that euroscepticism is a growing phenomena linked to unhappiness with the EU and is often differentiated in terms of hard and soft versions, the hard version calling for an end to the Union or for a country to leave the EU.

Brexit is the strongest manifestation of hard Euroscepticism and has the potential to increase eurosceptic sentiment across the Union, Dr Harwood said.

This talk will discuss how Brexit might increase Euroscepticism and apply this to the Maltese context in particular.

Identity and BREXIT: Euroscepticism in Malta, is on Friday, the 11th of January, starting at 7:30pm, at the premises of Circolo Gozitano, 6, Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Victoria

This event is open to anyone who wishes to participate. The talk will be delivered in English, entrance is free, and no reservations are required.
