Get ready for disco with Saturday Night Fever at the Aurora in Gozo

This Saturday, the Aurora Opera House will be once again be opening its doors as a movie theatre. It has been many years since it operated as a cinema and this will be a one-time only screening of the 1997 classic – Saturday Night Fever especially for Valentine’s
This Retro Cinema features the wonderful moves of John Travolta and Karen Gorney. So get out your white suits and don your dancing shoes for a musical trip down memory lane, not least for the Aurora Opera House itself, having screened the same blockbuster all those years ago.
The movie was a huge commercial success, and went a long way in popularising disco music around the world, as well as making Travolta a household name – although he was already well known from his role on the TV series – Welcome Back, Kotter.
The Bee Gees disco songs feature on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, which is one of the best-selling of all time.
The Aurora said that entrance is free of charge – on a first-come-first-served basis, no bookings required. Doors open at 6.45pm and the film starts at 7.00pm. The date to remember is Saturday, the 16th of February.
