Malta Enterprise has approved 11 projects that will operate from the Xewkija industrial zone, on the site known as Tal Hofra. This project is being developed by Malta Industrial Parks.
In a joint statement by the Ministry for the Economy, Ministry for Gozo, and the Parliamentary Secretariat for European Funds, they said that these 11 projects are expected to generate € 700,000 of investment in new machinery, as well as creating about 50 new jobs.

The statement said that for many years these entrepreneurs operated from garages in residential areas, but thanks to this development they will now be able to operate from industrial workshops which are equipped specifically for their needs.Minister Cardona explained the plan of this government is to make Gozo more accessible and he said that “this investment is an important foundation to achieving this goal.”
The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana said that at present, the island is undergoing a period of very strong growth, and investment in various growth areas will result in more job creation.
Minister Caruana urged these companies to invest in the skills of their employees and to apply for the various aids and benefits that are offered under a number of schemes including the Gozo Employment Refund Scheme administrated by the Ministry for Gozo.
Parliamentary Secretary for European funds and Social Dialogue Aaron Farrugia said that through this project, the Government continues to strengthen the work for the island in order for it to reach its potential as an economic driver.
