Gozitan Employees Association welcomes the setting up of the GRDAThe Association of Gozitan Employees in Malta (AGEM) has said that it welcomes with “great satisfaction,” the setting up of a Gozo Regional Development Authority, which, it said, “will further help to elevate the importance and fruitfulness of the Ministry for Gozo.”

The Association in a statement added that the setting up of such an authority is “a positive step in the right direction to strengthen governance issues.”

It also noted that this “in turn will help to foster a culture of strategic planning, implementation and reviewing in favour of a better and more prosperous Gozo.”

“The Regional Development Authority can also serve as a medium to create a number of new quality jobs in Gozo, from which various Gozitan professionals working in Malta can ultimately benefit,” the Association said.

The AGEM thanked the Ministry for Gozo, “in particular Dr. Justyne Caruana, for actively involving the Association during the consultation process on the Authority.” Adding that it was please to note that “the law regulating its setting up upholds most of the recommendations provided by the Association during the consultation process.”

The AGEM concluded that it intends to “continue working within the Gozitan civil society arena to voice and promote the interests of Gozitan employees working in Malta.”
