A charity walk is being organised by the Gollcher Group in aid of Dr. Klown, which is an independent non-profit organisation – dedicated to provide clown doctor services at the Gozo General Hospital and the Mater Dei Hospital.
It was in September 2016 that Dr Klown started spreading smiles among the young patients at the Gozo General Hospital children’s ward.
Clown doctors visit children in their beds, or stay with them while they are having treatment. They ‘play with the moment’ and improvise around each child’s situation and interests. Kids are encouraged to join in. Sometimes they just feel like watching. Families and staff are included in the fun.
The walk, which is just over 5km, will be held next Wednesday, the 1st of May- a Public Holiday – from Tigullio in St. Julians to the Black Pearl in Ta’ Xbiex.
Registration fee is €5 per person and commences at 8:15am. The walk starts at 9:00am and will be launched by Maxine Pace. The event is open to all and everyone is encouraged to join in and support this worthy cause.
