Feminine Allure – is a fashion show by VickyAnn Xuereb, taking place next Saturday evening as part of the Gozo Alive programme of events.
This Spring/Summer 2019 Haute Couture Collection has been designed to appeal to the contemporary trend and will be showcased in a series of modelling shows between 8pm and 10.30pm, on the roof top of the Visitor Centre.
The show is in aid of Dar Guzeppa Debono, an organisation run by volunteers and which provides residence, support, and professional help to single mothers, fathers, and their respective families in liaison with other agencies.
VickyAnn said that the theme compliments the French Riviera Fashion in the 1930s and 1940s, when fashionista women started wearing comfortable, yet chic and elegant attire, especially the renowned wide legged trousers for socialising and other leisure pursuits. Hats, bags and sunglasses where the optimal accessories used to compliment their outfits.
During the evening there will be repeat 20 minute modelling shows with a 10 minute interval in between, so be sure not to miss it.
VickyAnn, who was born in 1966 in Sydney, Australia, has been a dressmaker since the age of 14. Raised in Xaghra. her mother. Maria. a dressmaker herself, taught her the trade. As a young child, she was raised cutting cloths, sewing dolls clothes and designing, including creating her own wardrobe.
Her first client friend was way back in 1980 and since then she has never looked back. From children’s clothes to brides and bridesmaids dresses, from evening wear to theatre and carnival productions.
Her creative sewing abilities have turned her into a professional dressmaker whose original and creative work has put her name high on the list of the local fashion scene.
Vicky lives by the words ‘Omnia suere optime.- sewing every piece of cloth in the best way possible.
