The National Blood Transfusion Service said that accidents are taking place in Gozo and Malta on a daily basis, with many of the injured requiring blood transfusions.
Apart from the demand for blood for those that are injured, the demand is always high for patients with chronic diseases such as cancer, it said.
Faced with this reality the Service is calling on Gozitans to please give blood tomorrow, Tuesday, the 21st of May, at the District Health Centre in Xewkija. The session will be 1:00pm to 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm).
There will also be a session next Sunday, the 26th of May, between 8:00am to 1:00pm (last registration 1:00pm).
The Centre is located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
It is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
The Service thanks everyone who intends to donate.
