Next month Police Day will be commemorated in Gozo, with a special programme of events taking place in Marsalforn to mark this year’s 205th anniversary of the Malta Police.
This event is commemorated in Malta and Gozo every year on the 12th of July. In Gozo the public will have the opportunity to show their appreciation towards the Police in Gozo, on Monday, the 15th of July.
Prior to the evening events, there will be a Mass late afternoon celebrated at the Santa Marija cemetery chapel, followed by the blessing of Police graves and laying of flowers.
The activity then moves to Marsalforn, where at 7.30pm, there will be a march by the Malta Police Band starting from Mikelang Refalo Street.
This will be followed by a Police Band Concert at Il-Menqa, and will conclude with displays by the Precision Drill Team, as well as the Police Dogs Section. Two horses from the mounted section and a traffic motorcycle and rider will also be part of the team on the night.
The Police are also holding a recruitment week as part of the commemorations and there will be an information stand available during the event in Gozo for those interested in a possible career with the Malta Police Force.
