Rotary Club of Gozo presents donation of €2100 to the FSEG

A cheque for €2100 has been presented by the Rotary Club of Gozo, to Dr. John Pace, Founder and Past President of The Friends of the Sick and Elderly, Gozo.
The funds were raised at the recent Rotary Springtime Charity Dinner. Dr. Pace received the cheque from Rotary Club President Jouhn Gilbert.
While expressing his gratitude for the donation, Dr Pace explained that the funds would be used towards an additional nursing bed, or towards buying an automatic emergency defibrillator, which can be used by untrained members of the public, if someone suffers a cardiac arrest.
The Friends of the Sick and Elderly has been one of Rotary of Gozo’s main charity beneficiaries since the Club was founded. President Gilbert said that they were delighted to be able to continue this support.The event also celebrated the end of John Gilbert’s term as President. Members thanked him for his work helping to raise funds for local charities and work in the local communities.
In recognition of John’s significant work over the past two years Rotary International have awarded him a Paul Harris Fellowship.
He handed over the Presidency to Nic Carey who now takes on the position for the next year.
