Dwejra: Crowdfunding initiative launched for appeal against development
|Email item||Print item||
BirdLife Malta has just launched a “crowdfunding” initiative to collect funds which will enable them to appeal against further development in Dwejra, Gozo.
In a statement, BirdLife pointed out that this site is – a Natura 2000 site, Dark Sky Heritage Area and designated Special Protection Area under the Wild Birds Directive.
This “crowdfunding” appeal follows last week’s decision by the Environment and Planning Review Tribunal (EPRT) to overturn the Planning Authority’s refusal for further development at this site.
Fifteen organisations are supporting this initiative to collect funds to appeal this decision in court, with the aim to raise €2,000.
