The demand for blood never fades, even as we reach the peak summer months and with temperatures continuing to rise.
The National Blood Transfusion Service said that these hot months can affect the number of people providing blood donations
With this in mind, despite the heat, the Service is urging the public on Gozo to help meet the constant demand for blood from hospitals in Gozo and Malta.
Donations can be made next Tuesday, the 16th of July, from 1:00pm-5:00pm. (last registration 5:00pm) at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand, particularly in this hot weather.
