A set of three stamps is being issued by MaltaPost that are taken squarely from the contemporary world of comics. In a departure from the more traditional choice theme, this stamp set is designed by Fabio Agius, Lee Townsend and Mario Torrisi.
The artworks have been selected from Impressions of an Island – a publication by Heritage Malta in collaboration with Wicked Comics. They illustrate three images, all of which refer in some way, to local Maltese culture.
The stamps will be issued in a sheet of 10 stamps, with each stamp measuring 31mm x 44mm, with a comb perforation of 13.9 x 14.0 and bearing the Maltese Cross watermark. The sheets measure 185mm x 118mm and were produced by Printex Ltd in the offset process.
The issue consists of 500,000 of the €0.05 stamp, 30,000 of the €1.70 stamp and 300,000 the €2.50 stamp.
The stamps will be available from all Post Offices in Malta and Gozo from Saturday, the 29th of October.
