“This Christmas be one of Santa’s elves. Give a gift to the sick…. give blood.” With this in mind the National Blood Transfusion Service said that blood is precious and giving blood is an essential service, “that cannot be neglected.”
It is therefore urging Gozitans to show their solidarity and please help those in need by making a donation on one of the four dates that are shown below in December.
“As always, your cooperation and generosity are greatly appreciated and please encourage others to donate if possible,” the Service said.
Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club:
Sundays – last registration 1:00pm
4th December from 8:00am-1:00pm
18th December from 8:00am-1:00pm
Tuesdays – last registration 5:00pm
13th December 10.30am-4.00pm (National Holiday)
28th December 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service to avoid wasting time
The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
As usual, please wear a mask when attending the clinic.
