A plan to strengthen Gozo’s electricity distribution system in 2023 includes a new feeder from the Xewkija Distribution Centre to the Victoria Kercem Road Substation, Minister for Environment, Energy and Enterprise Miriam Dalli has said.
The Minister was replying to a Parliamentary Question by Opposition MP Chris Said, who had asked the Energy Minister if there was a planned upgrade to be carried out on Gozo’s distribution network in 2023 and if so what kind and in which localities the upgrades would be done.
Minister Dalli explained that this reinforcement includes the laying of a cable in Triq Qasam San Gorg, Triq Mons. Lwigi Vella and Pjazza Savina in Victoria.
With this project, the electricity supply in the villages in the western part of the Gozitan island will also be strengthened, the Minister said. “Other works in Enemalta’s plan include three new substations.”
