February is the month of love and romance and what better way of showing that you care for others than by donating your blood as a gift to those who really need it.
World Cancer Day is also commemorated in February, and the day is marked on the 4th of the month, so please support cancer patients by giving blood.
The National Blood Transfusion Service said that blood is precious and giving blood is an essential service, “that cannot be neglected.”
It is therefore urging Gozitans to show their solidarity and please help those in need by making a donation on one of the four dates that are shown below in February
Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club:
Sundays – last registration 1:00pm
12th February from 8:00am-1:00pm
26th February from 8:00am-1:00pm
Tuesdays – last registration 5:00pm
7th February 1:00pm to 5:00pm
21st of February 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service to avoid wasting time
The Service reminds everyone that it is very important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
As usual, please wear a mask when attending the clinic.
