The JP2 Foundation of Gozo holds an event each year commemorating a patron that passed away in the past 12 months.
For this occasion, the Foundation will be organising and In Memoriam event to commemorate Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI who passed away on the 31st of December 2022.
The commemoration will consist of a music recital by the Junior College Youth Ensemble under the direction of Mro Emanuel Pirotta. A reflection on the Holy Week will be read and Rev. Can Geoffrey Attard will launch a booklet on Pope Benedict XVI in Maltese.
In Memoriam will take place on Thursday, the 30th of March, at the San Lawrenz Parish Church, San Lawrenz. The commemoration is being held in full collaboration with the San Lawrenz Local Council and will start as soon as the Church service finishes, approximately 7.30pm.
